“Follow Me”

Inspired by the photographic study of a sea turtle gliding gracefully beneath crystal-clear blue sea waters, it’s streamlined body moving with an almost ethereal ease, shell shimmering in the dappled sunlight filtering through the surface. Flippers like the wings of a silent aviator.

Like a living mosaic in synchronized harmony, marine life follows in a devote swirling shoal catching the play of light as they dart and weave.

“ On the lookout !”

In this painting, a majestic bird of prey is perched overlooking its domain. Its sharp, focused gaze pierces the landscape, exuding confidence and authority. The bird's feathers are meticulously detailed, capturing the play of light and shade. I’ve tried to portray the bird's regal stance and the aura of power it commands as it surveys its domain with a sense of dominance and grace.

“ Gazing Tiger ”

In this loose watercolour painting, the gaze of a tiger is the focal point. Use of flowing, fluid brushstrokes create the contours of the tiger's face, capturing its intense stare and the mesmerizing depth of its eyes. The colours blend softly, creating a sense of movement and dynamism, allowing the tiger's features to emerge. The overall effect is an evocative and impressionistic portrayal that captures the essence of the tiger's watchful and intense presence.

“Morning Shower”

An elephant showers itself. I used loose, flowing brushstrokes to try and capture the essence of the elephant's massive yet graceful form. The splashes of water are depicted with translucent washes and subtle droplets, giving a sense of movement and vitality to the scene.

“January Quackers”

This painting was inspired from a photograph taken by a talented young photographer called Liam Barribal from his 2023 Wildlife Calendar (also happens to be my nephew).

A mallard duck emerging in the early morning January mist, unfazed by the damp and cold, just stretching out and thinking - breakfast time!…
